"Buffy, you’re not in an institution. You have never been in an institution." "Yes, I have."
#this is probably the most unsettling episode of any show ever #because youve been made to completely believe in this world #you trust these characters #you love the story lines and hate some others #and awful things happen and so do good #this character has been torn down and built back up #unless #this is the truth #nothing was real and its all in her head #because then everything is for nothing #youve watched and obsessed over SEASONS of this show #and all of it could be fake #its the most ingenius little episode because now there will forever be this voice in your head that wonders if that show you consider your favorite even had anything real and true #its never even confirmed whats the truth #this episode #or the rest of the show #in the end youre forced to make the same decision as Buffy #shes sane and the show really happened in that universe #because otherwise some part of you feels wronged and betrayed (via doyoureallybelievethatpercy)

A man in the grocery store line today approached me and said, “Sir, when I first saw you I was extremely attracted to you, but then I noticed that you are a boy. How… I mean, why do you dress so provocatively?”
I responded, “Well, in today’s world the majority of the straight male race view women as objects, or something that belongs to them. I dress provocatively because it attracts the attention of men in a sexual and OBJECTIVE way. However, when realized that I am actually male, they often become confused, disgusted, upset or all of the above. By inflicting this minor emotional damaged upon the ego of a man raised by twisted societal gender norms, maybe, just maybe the individual will think twice before viewing another woman with an objective attitude and sense of belonging. No woman, belongs to ANYONE. Male or female, the equality of human beings needs to be a priority. It is something worth dressing up for.”
I AM NOT KIDDING. The woman behind me, the female cashier, the old lady bagging groceries and the woman in front of me who was talking on the phone STOPPED, …. and proceeded to gasp and clap. The man shook my hand, told me to have a blessed day and then said, “excuse me ladies, I need to visit my daughter.”
…. I was shaking by the time I walked out of the store.

I’m wondering if I’m the only one who heard Arthur whisper ‘Merlin—' and instantly thought of the scene beforehand where Arthur told Merlin he never wanted him to change. Merlin has killed before, only for Arthur. But Arthur has never seen this side of Merlin, never known for him to be a killer. So while Merlin had never really in essence changed, to Arthur he had. The shock in his eyes when he watched Merlin thrust that sword into Morgana and the gasp that accompanied it. In his final moments of life, he realized all that Merlin had done, had sacrificed, all for him. Only for him.
"Only for you, Arthur."
Merlin, to Arthur, had changed. Only for him.
#and Arthur’s thinking back to the Merlin who first came to Camelot#the one who cried over unicorns and hated hunting for its senselessness#who valued life and wouldn’t hurt a fly#so innocent and hopeful#and then he sees what Merlin has become#hardened#almost ruthless#unhesitating in the face of what needs to be done#even when it’s killing a former friend#he sees how much Merlin really has changed#in his service and in his name#all of that innocence lost#so thoroughly disillusioned#and it hurts Arthur to realize that HE is the reason for that change#that Merlin has had to harden himself like this because of him#to keep him safe#that is the moment when Arthur understands the enormity of Merlin’s dedication#and everything that Merlin’s sacrificed for him#i’m gonna go curl up in a corner and cry now thanks#Merlin#BBC Merlin
But I also feel like when Arthur’s asking him not to change he’s asking him not to become like Morgana, in a sense. I mean, this is where Arthur realises that Merlin has magic and he probably realises the difference between them. Morgana discovered she had magic she began hating Arthur, but Merlin managed to continue being good and continue loving him despite all the horrible things he’s said over the years about magic and sorcerers. And I think he’s asking him to always be like that… to always be able to love so wholly and be brave in the face of adversity and all that shit.
